Death Game centers on affluent San Francisco businessman George Manning (Seymour Cassel), who finds himself at the mercy of two violent, deranged women (Sondra Locke, Colleen Camp) with a fetish for violence. Events spiral out of control after he unwittingly allows the pair into his home during a rainstorm and the women seduce him. The film also stars Michael Kalmansohn and Ruth Warshawsky.

Directed by Peter S. Traynor from a script co-written by Anthony Overman and Michael Ronald Ross, Death Game was shot in 1974 but was shelved for nearly three years after on-set disputes among the first-time director and the film’s cast. Production was ultimately halted due to a federal investigation into Traynor’s financing methods. The movie was eventually distributed by First American Films and Levitt-Pickman in 1977.

The 2015 film Knock Knock starring Keanu Reeves, Lorenza Izzo and Ana de Armas, is based on the Death Game film script.
