Just ahead of the November 20th release of The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, attendees at the 20th Anniversary edition of New York Comic-Con are being transported to the world of Panem from October 8-11, 2026. The film’s distributor Lionsgate brings The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping Experience to a free-of-charge pop-up location across the street from the Jacob K. Javits Center, where NYCC 2026 takes place.

The sensory, immersive experience, built in cooperation with Experiential Supply Co., brings to life distinctive elements from the movie and invites guests on a journey through the world of the 50th Hunger Games. Scenes include District 12, the striking floral motifs of the Games, and the spectacle of the Flickerman stage, along with fan-forward experiences celebrating the world of The Hunger Games.

Along with the The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping Experience announcement, Lionsgate also revealed the design for a New York Comic Con exclusive movie poster design that is to be officially unveiled during the 2026 edition of New York Comic-Con.

From acclaimed director Francis Lawrence (I Am Legend, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Red Sparrow, The Long Walk), The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping follows sixteen-year-old Haymitch Abernathy (Joseph Zada) from District 12, beginning on the morning of the reaping for the 50th Annual Hunger Games. Also known as the Second Quarter Quell, the event is described as the biggest Games yet with twice as many tributes. The Hunger Games also stars Jesse Plemons, Ralph Fiennes, Glenn Close, Jennifer Lawrence, Kieran Culkin, Elle Fanning, Mckenna Grace, Maya Hawke, Whitney Peak, Kelvin Harrison Jr. and Ben Wang. The film is based on the novel by Suzanne Collins and is written by Billy Ray & Michael Lesslie.
