Universal Pictures and Jason Blum’s Blumhouse Atomic Monster released the first trailer for filmmaker Joshua Giuliano’s horror film River on October 12, 2026. The horror thriller was acquired after a successful screening during the Midnight Madness section of the Toronto International Film Festival.

Written and directed by Giuliano, River stars Jane Levy (Don’t Breathe, Evil Dead), Jessica Rothe (Happy Death Day films, Pulse) and Max Mattern (Cape Fear, Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy) as estranged siblings that reunite to celebrate the life of their father. As they set out to scatter his ashes at his favorite spot on a remote river, the trip devolves into a fight for survival as they are mercilessly hunted by a faceless killer played by Dane DiLiegro (Prey, Only Murders in the Building). River also stars Kellen Boyle, Mickey Dolan, Aubree Liscotti, Addison Smith, Lisa Velten Smith, Westley Bator, Vanessa Reseland, Lexy Dewland, Gordon Gunia, Josh Nuncio and Aaliyah Raghnal.

River is released in movie theaters on January 15, 2027.
