Train to Busan director Yeon Sang-ho’s zombie thriller Colony stars Jun Ji-hyun as biology professor Se Jeong, who’s thrust into a bloody nightmare after a rapidly mutating virus is released during a biotech conference, causing authorities to seal the facility. Trapped inside with no escape, Se-jeong and a small group of survivors must fight to stay alive while the infected undergo horrific transformations.

Colony, which was an official selection at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, also stars Koo Kyo-hwan, Ji Chang-wook, Kim Shin-rock, Shin Hyeon-bin, Go Soo and Kim Hyung-mook. Well Go USA and GAGA Corporation distribute the horror film to U.S. movie theaters beginning Friday, August 28, 2026 and continuing through September 3rd, 2026.

With the release of Colony, August 28th sees the release of two movies with dystopian themes, including the Ridley Scott-directed The Dog Stars, based on Peter Heller’s 2012 post-apocalyptic novel of the same name.
