Comic book creator Ray-Anthony Height’s Studio Skye-Tiger and The Compton 125 Historical Society are sponsoring the first-ever comic-con in the city of Compton, California. For the first time, a comics convention comes to one of LA’s most culturally rich communities. The event takes place at Compton College on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 11AM – 5PM, with VIP access starting at 10AM. General admission for the Compton Comics Expo is free of charge.
Ray-Anthony Height founded Studio Skye-Tiger in 2023 as an independent comics studio and publishing house. The company blends anime-inspired energy with classic Western superhero storytelling, delivering bold, character-driven comics where diversity and representation are the foundation.
According to the event website, Height built Studio Skye-Tiger after being inspired by manga and animation powerhouses including Naoki Urasawa, Akira Toriyama, Studio Loud In School, Studio Bones, and Studio MIR — and was seeking a less harsh, more supportive creative environment.
Below is a video Height posted to Instagram on October 17, 2026, confirming a fundraising campaign for last-minute funds needed to ensure the event’s success.
