On August 27, 2026, filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan posted a short video on Instagram and Youtube announcing the launch of his Youtube Channel. In the video, he reflected on his work and career, contemplating what type of content he felt people might want to watch on the platform. You can check out the longer-form video announcement, along with a quote from it, below.

I’m M. Night Shyamalan, I’m a filmmaker, I make movies for a living… and this is my Youtube channel. What I hope it is, is an opportunity to reflect and get to know each other, deep in the relationship. That’s probably the main thing I think of, in a way that feels that I’m scared. And when I’m scared I usually think I’m doing something right. I’m growing. The messiness of it all… So I don’t know how this is going to be, I don’t know what I’m going to show you, and what you’re going to show me. But the joy of it is, stepping into the unknown. So we’ll do that together. I hope you enjoy it, I hope you stay with me!
