On October 16, 2026, Warner Bros. re-releases Ken Russell’s The Devils to movie theaters with a 4K restoration assembled from the original camera negative. The restoration presents Ken Russell’s definitive vision of The Devils by referencing the edit he privately constructed in 2004. The release is the uncut and unfiltered theatrical experience that Russell originally envisioned, and the first time the film is presented restored and in 4K.

Father Urbain Grandier’s protection of the city of Loudun from the corrupt Cardinal Richelieu is undermined by a sexually repressed nun’s accusation of witchcraft.
