Oscar-winning filmmaker and New York Times bestselling author Quentin Tarantino releases his second novel, The Adventures of Cliff Booth, on December 8, 2026. Harper, an imprint of HarperCollins, publishes the manuscript in hardcover, along with audiobook and electronic book. The Adventures of Cliff Booth is a sequel to Tarantino’s acclaimed 2021 #1 New York Times bestseller, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. As with Tarantino’s first novel, the novel is also a movie novelization, in this case for The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth, which is released in IMAX theaters on November 25, 2026 prior to streaming exclusively on Netflix beginning December 23, 2026.

Tarantino wrote the script for the film, which is directed by David Fincher and stars Brad Pitt in a return to his Academy Award-winning portrayal of Cliff Booth. Both the novel and film are set in 1977 Hollywood and feature Tarantino’s iconic character offering what Booth calls “clandestine services” to industry friends in need.

Much as his novel of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood both amplified and altered the narrative of the film, The Adventures of Cliff Booth offers Tarantino’s own creative vision for this story in novel form, in ways that both delight and surprise.

One of the most acclaimed living American filmmakers, Quentin Tarantino later pivoted to book writing, including his celebrated 2022 work of nonfiction centered on 1970’s film, the bestselling Cinema Speculation. Tarantino’s editor at Harper, Vice President and Executive Editor Noah Eaker, acquired North American rights to The Adventures of Cliff Booth from William Morris Endeavor. The novel is also published simultaneously in the United Kingdom by Weidenfeld & Nicolson.

The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth also stars Timothy Olyphant, Carla Gugino, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Holt McCallany, Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, Peter Weller, Emily Alyn Lind, Corey Fogelmanis, Hannah Christine Shetler, Nicholas Hammond, Lauren Glazier, Barry Livingston, Jobie James and Karren Karagulian.
