On October 9, 2026, Lionsgate Films debuted a first-ever fan edit trailer for one of its big budget film releases. For the first time on a major motion picture campaign for the studio, Lionsgate entrusted a fan editor to debut a never-before-seen clip from a movie. The studio gave social media fan editor Areq the opportunity to debut exclusive material through his own creative lens from the movie The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The fan-created trailer embraces the distinct visual language, style and technique fan editors had developed across social media at the time.

From acclaimed director Francis Lawrence, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping follows sixteen-year-old Haymitch Abernathy (Joseph Zada) from District 12, beginning on the morning of the reaping for the 50th Annual Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell, the biggest Games yet with twice as many tributes. Based on Suzanne Collins’ best-selling novel, the film also stars Jesse Plemons, Ralph Fiennes, Glenn Close, Kieran Culkin, Elle Fanning, Mckenna Grace, Maya Hawke, Whitney Peak, Kelvin Harrison Jr. and Ben Wang. The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping is released in movie theaters on November 20, 2026.
