On September 29, 2026, actor Danny Trejo and publisher PCB Entertainment launched a BackerKit campaign for Danny Trejo’s first-ever comic book, Danny Trejo Presents: Year of the Devil, a 150+ page graphic novel created for fans of Machete and Conan. The graphic novel stars Danny Trejo as Diego, a cursed warrior reborn across centuries to battle the Devil and the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

Created by Danny Trejo (Machete, Spy Kids, Breaking Bad), Keith Arem (Call of Duty, Street Fighter 6, Ascend), and Chris Yates (Marcus Walker: Kingslayer Protocol), this swashbuckling epic spans across time and space centering around love, loss and revenge. Alongside them, bringing the story to life is Italian artist Frank Mazzoli (BRZRKR, Axl Rose: Appetite For Destruction, Dune: Edge Of A Crysknife) with an exclusive main cover by the prolific Dan Quintana (Absolute Batman, Absolute Wonder Woman). The series also features variant cover art options by Vanessa Del Rey (Eisner nominated Redlands, The Witcher), Carlo Barberi (Spawn, Gunslinger Spawn), Jaime Carrillo (Star Wars, Dark Souls), Raymond Gay (TMNT, The Darkness), Jonathan Uribe (Spawn, Transformers), J. Following the Aztec Massacre of Toxcatl, Spanish conquistador Diego de Rojas travels across Mexico, haunted by the loss of the woman he loves. His journey leads him to a hidden prison beneath Chichén Itzá, where he inadvertently unleashes Lucifer upon the world.

To prevent the Devil’s escape, Diego makes an impossible sacrifice, binding his soul and flesh to an ancient curse. Condemned to walk the Earth for centuries, Diego is killed and reborn throughout history, forced into an endless war against the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
