KFC opened the first location of a new restaurant concept called Saucy by KFC, in Orlando on Monday, December 23, 2024. Saucy specializes solely in chicken strips and sauces, along with a few side dishes and some unique drinks.

At the heart of Saucy’s menu are 11 sauces – 11 to represent Kentucky Fried Chicken’s 11 herbs and spices in food chain’s original coated chicken recipe – which customers can order individually or in a group of four with their choice of tenders. The chicken is hand-breaded and fried (there was no grilled chicken option available at launch) in small batches as part of a made-to-order meal.

Dunking sauce flavors range from traditional – such as sweet and saucy BBQ, saucy ranch and creole honey mustard – to a collection of ranches, including chimichurri ranch, peri peri ranch, jalapeño pesto ranch and smokey bacon ranch, as well as Asian-inspired blends, like Thai sweet and spicy, spicy mango chutney and sweet teriyaki.

Sauces and tenders can be paired with toasted Hawaiian rolls – which are served as toast, crinkle-cut French fries, and coleslaw. Diners can also opt for an EZ Crispy Sandwich, Spicy Queso Crunch Sandwich, or various combinations, including a three-piece tender combo with a toasted roll, fries, medium drink, along with a choice of one sauce for $7.99. Dessert options include chocolate mousse cake or key lime pie in a can.

The customization-focused restaurant gives guests options that make “over 4,000 different ways” to order, according to a press release by the chain. Guests can order at a drive-thru or kiosks, as well as sit in the pink and orange clad restaurant. The fast food venue also plans to launch unspecified “live entertainment,” in order to create the “perfect community epicenter.”

Plans are to open additional Saucy locations around the United States “soon,” however the timing and locations were not specified at a launch press event.
