Photographer Alexis Wolfe hosts a special Oakland, California celebration on August 22, 2026, for the release of Keep It Beautiful: Inside the Funkyverse of Shock G and Digital Underground, published by Clarkson Potter/Penguin Random House three days later, on August 25th. The evening is rooted in Oakland culture, hip-hop, art and community as friends, fans, and the Digital Underground family celebrate Shock G’s boundless creativity and the legacy he left behind.

The evening features music by original Digital Underground member DJ Fuze, special guests, book signing, an exhibition of Shock G’s original art work, archival audio from the making of the book, and an opportunity to connect with the people and stories behind one of Oakland’s most influential hip-hop groups. The first 100 attendees receive a copy of the book.
