Sybil Danning's Saint Exmin from Battle Beyond the Stars gets Limited Edition Action Figure as Part of Shout Factory Blu-ray Set

Toy and Figure Releases | Jun 29, 2021

NECA, Shout Factory

On June 29, 2021, Shout Factory releases a limited edition collector’s set for Battle Beyond the Stars featuring a Blu-ray Steelbook of the film, along with a lithograph poster of the newly commissioned box art illustration by artist Hugh Fleming, and an action figure based on Sybil Danning’s sexy character, the Valkyrie Saint-Exmin. The figure was produced in partnership with NECA Toys and limited to 2,000 units.

The 8 inch tall ABS Plastic action figure has posable joints and features the character in uniform with her helmet and futuristic sidearm. The figure was authorized and approved by actress Sybil Danning prior to its production.

In addition to Danning, the cast includes Richard Thomas, Robert Vaughn, John Saxon, George Peppard, Darlanne Fluegel, Sam Jaffe, Morgan Woodward, Earl Boen, John Gowans, Steve Davis, Lawrence Steven Meyers, Lara Cody, Lynn Carlin, Jeff Corey, Marta Kristen, Julia Duffy, and Eric Morris.

Co-directed by Jimmy T. Murakami and cult cinema legend Roger Corman, Battle Beyond the Stars was written by John Sayles, who went on the become a noted independent filmmaker. The film had other talented people behind the scenes that went on to big careers in the film and television industry, including: Academy Award–winning director James Cameron (The Terminator, Aliens), who handled art direction; Academy Award–winning composer James Horner (Titanic, Avatar), who scored the music for the movie; and producer Gale Anne Hurd (The Terminator, Hulk), who was the assistant production manager.

Battle Beyond the Stars centers on Shad (Richard Thomas), who scours the cosmos in order to recruit mercenaries from different planets and cultures. Their mission is to save his peaceful home world from the threat of the evil tyrant Sador (John Saxon), who’s bent on dominating and enslaving the entire universe. Joining this “magnificent seven” of mercenaries are the deadly Gelt (Robert Vaughn), carefree Cowboy (George Peppard) and the sexy Valkyrie Saint-Exmin (Sybil Danning).

The film was originally released by Roger Corman’s New World Pictures.

Below are screenshots of the action figure, as well as the 28.5″ x 16.5″ rolled lithograph with commissioned cover art from artist Hugh Fleming.
