Allen Funt created, developed, and presented Candid Camera, first as a radio show, then as a television series. The premise involved ordinary people unwittingly becoming the stars of the show. The show eventually becomes known for the slogan “Smile, you’re on Candid Camera.” Various incarnations of Candid Camera continue to run in various countries as of 2021.
