Savage!

New World Pictures

Savage centers on Jim Haygood (James Glehart), who becomes the legendary leader of a rebel army. The film begins after a daring ambush on on a beach, during which the elusive leader of a rebel army, Moncada, is captured by Haygood and turned over to the authorities. That night, Haygood celebrates his success in a nightclub, where he meets two glamorous young female entertainers, Amanda of the High Wire (Carol Speed) and Vicky the Knife-Thrower (Lada Edmund Jr.).

A reporter bursts in with the news that Moncada is dead, accusing Haygood of the rebel leader’s cold-blooded murder. Haygood is put under arrest but escapes during his transfer to a military prison. He hides out in Amanda and Vicky’s dressing room. During a raid by military police, Vicky is caught, however Haygood commandeers an army jeep and escapes into the mountains with Amanda.

Haygood and Amanda are then taken prisoner by rebel forces, but in a major battle between the rebels and the army, Haygood assists the rebels. During a coup he even redirects the enemy’s planes to attack their own troops. From that point on, through a series of daring exploits, Jim Haygood emerges as the new rebel leader, “Savage” in name and deed.

Directed by Cirio H. Santiago, Savage stars James Iglehart, Lada Edmund Jr., Carol Speed, Sally Jordan, Rosanna Ortiz, Ken Metcalfe, Vic Diaz, Aura Aurea, Eddie Gutierrez, Harley Paton and Marie Saunders.
