Terry Bradshaw Day

Social and Cultural Events, Sports-Related Celebrations | Feb 5

Tulane University

United States > Louisiana > New Orleans > > 70118

The commemorative Terry Bradshaw Day, named after the Pro Football Hall of Famer of the same name, was first proclaimed by the New Orleans City Council and formally announced by Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry. Tulane University hosted an official ceremony on campus for Bradshaw, who was born and raised in the state of Louisiana, on February 5, 2025, during 2025 Super Bowl Week.

The event was broadcast live during the Super Bowl LIX pregame show, from 10 to 10:30 AM at the Berger Family Lawn, and the first 100 students that arrived received free merchandise from the Fox Television Network.

Terry Bradshaw won the first of his four Super Bowl victories during Super Bowl IX, which was hosted at Tulane Stadium on January 12, 1975. Quarterback Terry Bradshaw and the “Steel Curtain” defense, advanced to their first Super Bowl after a 10–3–1 regular-season record and playoff victories over the Buffalo Bills and the Oakland Raiders. Bradshaw’s Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Minnesota Vikings by a score of 16 to 6.
