Violent City, also called Città violenta (Italian) and The Family, is a 1970 crime thriller directed by Sergio Sollima from a screenplay co-written with Lina Wertmüller. The film stars Charles Bronson, Jill Ireland, and Telly Savalas, and centers on a former hitman named Jeff Heston, who’s been framed by a mob boss named Al Weber, and left for dead. Heston seeks revenge on the mobster and his own girlfriend, who helped set him up. The Italian-French co-production was filmed in New Orleans, the U.S Virgin Islands, and Cinecittà Studios in Rome.
