Wanderlust Wine Co., Whataburger
In celebration of the chain’s 75th anniversary, Texas-based food chain Whataburger brings its digital “Museum of Art” to life with an in-person exhibit in downtown Austin during South by Southwest (SXSW) on March 8-9, 2025.
Whataburger’s legion of fans have shown their love for the brand through art over the years. In 2019, the burger chain planned on opening a physical gallery showcasing the various paintings, sculptures, designs and digital art pieces they were crafting. However, a global pandemic forced those plans to take another route. In 2021, an Instagram page was launched at @thewmoa, where fans can have their art featured. The social media page is known as the “Whataburger Museum of Art.”
From digital art, to pop culture, murals, abstract, and more, each piece at the Whataburger Museum of Art pop up exhibit has a Whataburger spin. In addition to viewing art, guests are able to interact in some exhibits, as well. In “The Table Tent Mugshot Wall” exhibit, guests can take a picture with a specialty Whataburger 75th Anniversary + SXSW 2025 Table Tent, which is only available during the event.
Meanwhile, in the “The Whataburger Day Dot Room,” guests can color a white restaurant in Whataburger “Day Dot” stickers. Another interactive area, called “3D Art & Digital Displays,” features a combination of stand-alone pieces, sculptures and digital installations. Each piece of art showcases the infinite ways that Whataburger inspires their fans and artists.
The fan-made art is available for in-person viewing by SXSW badge-holders and the general public at Wanderlust Wine Co. in downtown Austin, Texas at 610 N. Interstate Highway 35. The Whataburger Museum of Art is open March 8-9 from 11AM – 6PM.
