Sylvester Stallone's Infamous "Adult" Film Party at Kitty and Stud's, was First Released in Theaters
U.S. Theatrical Releases | Feb 10, 1970
Bryanston Distributing, Italian Stallion Productions, Stallion Releasing Inc.
The film centers on title characters Kitty (Henrietta Holm) and Stud (Sylvester Stallone), lovers who enjoy a robust sex-life. That enjoyment includes fellatio and light S&M, specifically, Stud belt-whipping Kitty. Three women come over for a party and Stud services them, one after the other.
The Party at Kitty and Stud’s was Sylvester Stallone’s infamous “adult” movie that was made prior to his star-turning role as Rocky Balboa in the iconic boxing movie Rocky. Directed by Morton M. Lewis, The Party at Kitty and Stud’s also stars Jodi Van Prang, Nicholas Warren, Frank Micelli and Barbara Strom. The film was advertised as being a “hardcore” adult movie, but was not.
Stallone has stated in interviews that he made the movie out of desperation after being kicked out of his New York City apartment and being homeless for several days, sleeping in a bus station during winter. In Stallone’s words:
“It was either do that movie or rob someone because I was at the end – at the very end – of my rope. Instead of doing something desperate, I worked two days for $200 and got myself out of the bus station.”
The Party at Kitty and Stud’s was re-released on July 6, 1976 at Italian Stallion, in order to capitalize on the success of Stallone’s soon-to-be-released boxing film Rocky.
