Shemar Moore Announces New S.W.A.T. Television Series S.W.A.T. Exiles
Announcements, News | May 19, 2025
Actor and producer Shemar Moore made an announcement on his Instagram page on May 19, 2025, just a few after the 2-hour series finale of his police drama S.W.A.T. aired on CBS. In the Instagram Reel, Moore, who had been attending the L.A. Screenings international television market, states that CBS is in active development on another S.W.A.T. TV series, titled S.W.A.T. Exiles.
According to Moore’s statement:
You heard it here first, Hondo’s not done yet. Be on the lookout for S.W.A.T EXILES – he’s back not just to lead, but to rebuild. New recruits. No second chances.
There is indeed an IMDB page dedicated to a television series titled “SWAT Exiles” starring Shemar Moore as Daniel ‘Hondo’ Harrelson, the same character he plays in S.W.A.T. However, there’s little information about the show, who else has been cast, or its story line.
According to Moore’s video, the show is so far along that it begins shooting in the summer of 2025. The fact that SONY Pictures Television is one of the Instagram profiles attached to the Reel lends all kinds of credibility to the actor’s statement.
S.W.A.T., a reboot of the 1970’s crime drama, centers on a Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team as they battle crime in Los Angeles, California. The series also stars Jay Harrington as Sergeant David ‘Deacon’ Kay, David Lim as Officer Victor Tan, Patrick St. Esprit as Commander Robert ‘Bob’ Hicks, Kenny Johnson as Officer Dominique Luca, Alex Russell as Officer Jim Street, Lina Esco as Officer Chris Alonso, Rochelle Aytes as Nichelle Carmichael, Anna Enger Ritch as Officer Zoe Powell, and Stephanie Sigman as Captain Jessica Cortez.
