While serving in the U.S. military, Unique (Shameik Moore) was falsely accused of assault and sent to a military prison. Upon his release, he settles in a small Ohio town looking to restart his life, reconnecting with Ramsey (RJ Cyler), his only surviving relative.

Something insidious underlies this seemingly peaceful town, thanks to a racist sheriff and his crew of likeminded acolytes. They all have a knack for violence and share a gruesome secret pertaining to missing young Black men. When they set their sights on Unique and turn his life upside down, the former soldier has no choice but to bring the ruckus down on the sheriff and his goons. Hell hath no fury like a veteran scorned – and armed with a sword.

Written and directed by RZA, One Spoon of Chocolate stars Michael Harney, Blair Underwood, Shameik Moore, Rockmond Dunbar, Paris Jackson, RJ Cyler, Brittney Rae, Emyri Crutchfield, Harry Goodwins, Darin Heames, Jason Vendryes and Jason Isbell. The film has its World Premiere during Tribeca Film Festival’s 2025 “Escape From Tribeca” program.
