On August 11, 1973, in the rec room of an apartment building in the Bronx, a new musical form entered the world. And PashCo is celebrating the 50th anniversary of hip hop and its origins. While PashCo may not feature any DJ Kool Herc, known as the first Hip Hop DJ, PashCo will have many more! The genre spread from the underground to the mainstream, thanks to one of the first hip-hop records, Sugarhill Gang’s Rapper’s Delight, released in 1979. PashCo celebrates the 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop with an auction that covers not only hip hop, but the genres that were influenced by it including trip hop music, house music, trance music, rap music, gangsta rap music, funk music, soul music, freestyle music, ambient music, electro music, electronic music, swing music, progressive music, downtempo music, plus more.
