Straight Outta Compton, the debut studio album by hip hop group N.W.A, is released by rapper Eazy-E’s label Ruthless Records, on August 8, 1988. N.W.A., short for Niggas Wit Attitudes, was formed in Los Angeles County’s City of Compton in early 1987. Straight Outta Compton was produced by N.W.A members Dr. Dre, D.J. Yella, and Arabian Prince, with lyrics written by band members Ice Cube and MC Ren, along with Ruthless rapper The D.O.C.
