Manny Pacquiao, the legendary boxing champion who turned 46 years old in December of 2024, comes out of retirement to fight 30 year-old Mario Barrios for the WBC welterweight title on Saturday, July 19, 2025. The boxing match is held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada and is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video pay-per-view.

International Boxing Hall-of-Famer Pacquiao gets back into the boxing ring to fight Mario Barrios of San Antonio, Texas for the WBC Welterweight World Championship. Pacquiao hasn’t fought a legitimate boxing contender since 2021, and the native of the Philippines knows he’s been viewed as an underdog against Barrios, who is in his prime and has lost only two times in his professional career. However, at the time of the boxing match, Pacquiao is an eight-division world champion who has won belts in four different decades.

Barrios’ only losses have come against two of the best boxers to ever enter the ring – Keith Thurman and Gervonta Davis. Barrios, who is nicknamed “El Azteca,” also has one of the sport’s most colorful ring entrances, being accompanied by a Mexica (or Aztec) dance troupe that pays tribute to his Mexican and indigenous roots.
