ThreeSixty Asset Advisors and Crescent Commercial Corporation host a three-day public auction of Costume Rental Corporation. CRC, a North Hollywood legacy wardrobe rental house, shut its doors after nearly five decades serving the motion picture and television industries. The sale features approximately 800 consumer and collector lots on Thursday, September 25, 2025 and 2,500 trade and reseller lots on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 30th and October 1st of the same year.

CRC closes during unprecedented entertainment industry changes, a reflection of the sustained slowdown in Southern California production that hurt below-the-line vendors across the region. Against that backdrop, CRC’s closure marked the end of an era for a shop that outfitted generations of projects in Hollywood, including fashion, uniforms, military and period clothing accessories.

Costume industry veteran Shon LeBlanc of Valentino’s, who assisted CRC in sorting through its inventory to prepare for the auction, said of the collection:

“OMG! What a treasure trove this is. There are star pieces attributed to Marilyn Monroe, Heddy Lamar, Veronica Lake, Eddie Murphy, Nicolas Cage, Debbie Reynolds, Robert De Niro, Chevy Chase, Shelly Winters, Paulette Goddard, Tom Berenger, Sam Elliott, Gary Busey, Matt Damon, Al Pacino, Ray Liotta, Lindsay Lohan, Vin Diesel, Peter Sarsgaard, Natalie Portman, Daniel Radcliff, Denzel Washington, Jake Gyllenhaal, Jamie Foxx, Hugh Jackman, Zack Efrain and many more. If that’s not enough, I found the holy grail of costume pieces—a vintage tie by the iconic costume designer Adrian. I’ve never seen so many rare and unique items in one place. The sheer quantity and quality of costumes and accessories is breathtaking.”

The offering draws from decades of screen use across major productions, with categories including period womenswear, men’s designer suits, military and police uniforms, western, medieval and renaissance clothing, along with occupational wear such as flight attendants, bellhops, marching bands, and more – all organized into curated consumer lots and industry-ready volume groupings. CRC’s credits over five decades include many landmark titles across film and TV – from Apocalypse Now and Saving Private Ryan to Forrest Gump, Jackie, A Star is Born and A Complete Unknown – highlighting its pedigree.

According to ThreeSixty Asset Advisors president Jeff Tanenbaum, there were thoughtfully built lots for collectors and cosplay enthusiasts, vintage retailers, militaria buyers, and costume rental houses alike. Every day the prep teams found something new, from the vibrant wedding costumes in Coming to America to the nostalgic baseball uniforms of the original Bad News Bears to Tom Hank’s iconic sweater in Castaway. Another of the many gems in the collection include a Marilyn Monroe skirt and body forms used for both Monroe and Lucille Ball.

On day one, the consumer/collector lots will be sold. New lots are being added daily to the catalog and buyers can register and bid now, with items closing live starting at 9:30 a.m. PT on September 25. On days two and three, the trade/volume lots will be sold by category and era. While these lots will cater to industry buyers, the sale will be open to the public, with many small-quantity lots included as well. Bidding for day two and three lots will open soon and close on September 30 and October 1, starting at 9:30 a.m. PT each day.
