Intamin, Six Flags Corporation

The Kingda Ka roller coaster at Six Flags Great Adventure permanently closed with the conclusion of the theme park’s 2024 operating season on November 10, 2024. The closure was not formally announced to the general public in advance of its final rides, however rumors suggested the closure was imminent. Prior to the shutdown, Kingda Ka was the tallest and fastest roller coaster on earth. The coaster originally opened in 2005 and was manufactured by the company Intamin.

According to the now-merged Six Flags and Cedar Fair company, the Kingda Ka roller coaster closure makes way for a new ride scheduled to open during the summer 2026 season.
