Intamin, Six Flags Corporation

The Kingda Ka roller coaster at Six Flags Great Adventure officially opened to the general public on May 21, 2005, after a soft opening two days prior. Kingda Ka was the tallest and fastest roller coaster on earth. It was manufactured by the company Intamin at a cost of approximately $25 million, working from an original design by Werner Stengel.

According to the now-merged Six Flags and Cedar Fair company, the Kingda Ka roller coaster closure makes way for a new ride scheduled to open during the summer 2026 season.
