The Hong Kong Tourism Board presents a Hong Kong cultural showcase at Art Basel Miami Beach from December 6-8, 2024 at the Miami Beach Convention Center. The event marks the second of its kind surrounding the Board’s partnership with Art Basel, following a debut pop-up at Art Basel Paris in October 2024.

The Hong Kong-style café invites visitors to immerse themselves in Hong Kong’s traditional café culture by stepping into one of Hong Kong’s iconic Cha Chaan Tengs recreated in Miami, Florida. These bustling diners are rooted in the city’s mid-20th-century culture, known for their eclectic menus that blend East and West flavors. Visitors are able to sample classic treats including pineapple buns, egg tarts, and milk tea, all set against a backdrop of nostalgic design elements, such as patterned floor tiles and Hong Kong-style décor.

Hong Kong multimedia artist Mak2 debuts an exclusive art installation titled “Sweet Home Invasion” within the space, integrating physical and digital elements in her signature style. Drawing inspiration from the energy and diversity of Hong Kong’s urban landscape, the specially commissioned piece transforms the eye-catching space into a dynamic showcase, where tradition meets modernity.

The Hong Kong Tourism Board’s showcase at Art Basel Miami Beach is a continuation of its ongoing partnership with Art Basel and underscores Hong Kong’s commitment to presenting the city as a leading center for art and culture.
