Satana was a short-lived men’s interest magazine that featured erotic short fiction essays and comic strips, along with articles and female nude pin-up pictorials. The premiere issue of the magazine, which was labeled for “Mature Readers,” features a short fiction story titled “The Interview,” written by Madeline Smith and illustrated by pioneering fetish artist Gene Bilbrew. Pin-up models featured in the issue include Mary Sabatier, Vee Ferrari, Hope Hathaway, and Rita Grable.
Released on January 1, 1962, the 58 page edition measures 8 inches x 10.5 inches, with a full color cover and black & white interior pages. The cover photo was taken by Paul Wagner.
