Film Screenings and Series, Screenings and Viewing Marathons | Jul 5 - Jul 8, 2026
Fathom Entertainment brings Citizen Kane back to the big screen, remastered in 4K.
Eighty-five years ago, Orson Welles changed cinema forever with the word “Rosebud.” Now, Citizen Kane — widely regarded as the greatest movie ever made — returns to movie theaters across the U.S. for film’s 85th anniversary.
This special anniversary screening also includes exclusive insights courtesy of film historian Leonard Maltin, offering a fresh look at why this film still matters nine decades later.
Citizen Kane takes place in 1940. Seventy-year-old Charles Foster Kane dies alone at his fantastic estate known as Xanadu, while uttering only the word “Rosebud.”
So ends the odyssey of a life – and begins a fabulous tale of the rise to wealth and power – along with the ultimate fall – of a complex man. Kane was a boy abandoned by his parents who inherits a fortune, builds a global newspaper empire, and aspires to become President of the United States. However loses everything over an affair with an untalented nightclub singer. The story unfolds through the eyes of the people important to the tycoon – each showing a different aspect of Citizen Kane.
Citizen Kane is screening in movie theatres on July 5 and 8, 2026.
