Danny Boyle’s zombie horror 28 Days Later is back in movie theaters for one night only, on May 21, 2025. The release comes ahead of the release of third film in the series, 28 Years Later, which is distributed to theaters on June 20, 2025.

The film 28 Days Later begins with a group of misguided animal rights activists freeing a caged chimp from a medical research lab, that has been infected with what is eventually be called the “Rage” virus. When London bike courier Jim (Cillian Murphy) wakes up from a coma a month after, he finds the city all but deserted. On the run from the zombie-like victims of the Rage, Jim stumbles upon a group of survivors, including Selena (Naomie Harris) and cab driver Frank (Brendan Gleeson), and joins them on a perilous journey to what he hopes will be safety.
