Byron Allen’s Freestyle Digital Media acquired U.S. theatrical and streaming rights to the documentary feature Stella Stevens: The Last Starlet, which debuts with a limited theatrical release and filmmaker Q&A at the Laemmle Royal West in Los Angeles on September 30, 2025. Following the limited theatrical release, the film is released for digital HD internet, cable, and satellite platforms on October 3, 2025, and finally on DVD beginning October 7, 2025.

Director Andrew Stevens participates in the Q&A following the 7:00 PM screening on Tuesday, September 30th at the Laemmle Royal West. Author and screenwriter Courtney Joyner moderates the interview.

Stella Stevens: The Last Starlet tells the story of Stella Stevens, one of Hollywood’s final true starlets who blossomed into a movie star, challenging and transforming the male-dominated studio system of Old Hollywood along the way. The film explores both her personal journey and professional career, which spanned from the final days of the classic studio era to the emergence of New Hollywood. During a time of sweeping social change, including the fight for women’s rights and human rights for all races and identities, Stella used her voice and platform as a dedicated advocate, leaving a lasting legacy on and off the screen.

Written and directed by Andrew Stevens, Stella Stevens: The Last Starlet is Executive Produced by Rick Moore, Adam Biddle and Hicham Benkirane. Interview subjects include Quentin Tarantino, Vivica A. Fox, Kin Shriner, Sandie Newton, Leonard Maltin, Andrew Stevens, Barbra Luna, Fred Specktor, Courtney Joyner, Fred Olen Ray, Cathy St. George, John O’Brien, Dennis McDougal, Aubrey Stevens, Steven Seligman, Donna Weinberger, Melinda Kubick, Kat Campbell, Bruce Kulick, Lisa Kulick, with Lindsey Kongsore reenacting early interviews portraying Stella Stevens. The film also includes images and footage of Stevens herself, along with Dick Van Dyke, Jason Robards, Michael Landon, Jim Brown, Dean Martin, Elvis Presley, Glenn Ford, Shelley Winters and Jerry Lewis.
