The Evolution Championship Series, also known as Evo, is an annual esports event focusing exclusively on fighting games. Evo tournaments are completely open and use the double elimination format. Contestants travel from all over the world to participate in Evo. The first Evolution was convened as a Super Street Fighter II Turbo and Street Fighter Alpha 2 tournament called the Battle by the Bay. The convention’s name changed to Evo in 2002. The 2025 edition of Evo was held at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
