Going Going Gone: The Magic of the Home Run

Television/Streaming Premiere | Jul 6, 2025

Major League Baseball, MLB Studios, Roku Channel

Going, Going, Gone: The Magic of the Home Run premieres on Sunday, July 6, 2025 on The Roku Channel. Hosted by comedian, Emmy-nominated producer, and baseball fanatic Roy Wood Jr., the Roku Original produced by MLB Studios explores the evolution and appeal of the home run and the Home Run Derby, one of the most thrilling events in sports.

The special blends Wood Jr.’s comedic style and passion for the game, classic archival footage, interviews with star players, and interactive segments with baseball legends. Interviews with Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, Jazz Chisholm and Home Run Derby champions Pete Alonso and Teoscar Hernandez discuss what makes the home run so glorious and theatrical.

MLB legend Albert Pujols, who hit 703 career home runs, makes a special appearance, plus Chris Berman, the legendary voice of the Home Run Derby, and Hall of Fame broadcaster Bob Costas talk about the mystique and long-lasting aura of the long ball.

The Roku Channel is available to stream for free on Roku devices or TVs and can be accessed online at TheRokuChannel.com, as well as on iOS and Android devices, Amazon Fire TVs, Samsung TVs, Google TVs and other Android TV OS devices.
