Clueless Day celebrates the cult classic teen romantic comedy Clueless, which is written and directed by Amy Heckerling, and stars Alicia Silverstone, Stacey Dash, Brittany Murphy, Paul Rudd, Donald Faison, Elisa Donovan, Breckin Meyer and Jeremy Sisto. The day was first celebrated when Beverly Hills Mayor Sharona Nazarian officially declared July 19th “Clueless Day” during a 30th Anniversary screening event at LA Cienega Park in Beverly Hills, California in 2025. The outdoor event was sponsored by Paramount Home Entertainment and Street Food Cinema. The film was originally released in movie theaters on July 19, 1995.

Clueless centers on Cher (Alicia Silverstone), the most popular and glamorous girl at Beverly Hills High. Although she may be the envy of scheming Betties (female babes) and persistent Barneys (unattractive guys), she has an innate drive to help those less fortunate, especially when it comes to love. Despite her total confidence in knowing what’s best for others, Cher is totally clueless when it comes to her own heart.
