Superman Day
Social and Cultural Events | Jun 12
Superman Day celebrates the iconic Kryptonian superhero on June 12th of every year, along with the comic book storylines he’s been a part of. Superman Day began in 2013 and was initiated by D.C. Entertainment, leading up to the release of the film Man of Steel.
The day was originally called Man of Steel Day and was celebrated by primarily American comic book retailers in collaboration with D.C., and consisted of handing out free copies of All-Star Superman #1 Special Edition.
The continuation of the day in subsequent years – and its name change – seemed to have happened organically.
