Mystery Science Theater 3000 takes place in the not-too-distant future, where Joel Robinson (played by show creator Joel Hodgson) is held captive by Dr. Pearl Forrester (Mary Jo Pehl) and TV’s Frank (Frank Conniff), forced to watch B-movies on the Satellite of Love with the help of his robot friends – Cambot, Gypsy, Tom Servo and Crow T.
