Empire Magazine and the BFI teamed up in 2009 to present an event called Movie-Con, a weekend of special events, genre film screenings and activities. Empire Magazine’s Movie-Con also featured exclusive footage from San Diego Comic-Con’s famed Hall H film panels. The event also featured surprise preview screenings, along with special guests, movie-related prizes and film-themed swag.

Movie-Con took place at BFI Southbank Screening and Event Center in London.

The 2009 edition of Movie-Con marked the second year of the event. The inaugural 2008 edition of Movie-Con included footage from Terminator Salvation, The Wolfman, the Friday the 13th remake, and Watchmen, along with other big Hollywood movies.
