Set 100 years in the future, The Ark follows humanity’s first wave of deep-space colonization missions after Earth becomes increasingly uninhabitable. From a desperate fight for survival aboard a damaged colony ship to an adventure about rebuilding civilization, the crew of the Ark One overcomes escalating threats in order to protect humanity’s future while forging a new home among the stars. The show’s creator Dean Devlin explained to Creative Screenwriting that the entire point of the series is about having a life-or-death ordeal that forces the Ark’s survivors to adapt.
