Proctors Collaborative in Schenectady, New York hosts New York City-based Subway Cinema for the film screening series Flying Sword Heroes: Gravity-Defying Tales from Taiwan, from August 14 – 24, 2025. Founders of the annual New York Asian Film Festival held at Lincoln Center, Subway Cinema has been sponsoring Asian film premieres and retrospectives since 1999.
The series marks the group’s first event outside of the five boroughs. It also marks the biggest U.S. retrospective of Taiwanese wuxia (sword fighting hero) movies ever seen outside of any major American city.
Every screening in the Flying Sword Heroes series is free of charge and tickets can be reserved online or at the Box Office.
