Future Publishing, Nintendo

In July of 1988, the July/August 1988 issue of Nintendo Power Magazine was published. Nintendo Power was a video game news and game tips magazine published by Nintendo of America. The publication was Nintendo’s official print magazine in North America. Nintendo Power was initially published monthly by Nintendo of America, then in December 2007, was contracted to Future US, the American subsidiary of British publisher Future PLC. The magazine’s 24-year production run is one of the longest of all video game magazines in North America.

On August 21, 2012, Nintendo announced that it would not renew its licensing agreement with Future Publishing, and subsequently, the final issue of the magazine, volume 285, was released on December 11, 2012.
