Big Apple Comic Convention hosts its 4th Annual Holiday Con on Saturday, November 23, 2024. The event is described as a party convention with gifts, prizes, and special events to celebrate the Holiday Season and NYC’s all season love affair with the world of comics and pop culture collectibles. The BACC Holiday Con features more than 100 exhibitors, along with artists, guests and cosplayers, with a focus on up and coming artists from the New York area.
Special Guests and Events Include
- Al Kahn, the man who brought the Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh! Japanese anime franchises to the world outside of Japan
- A dedicated 1200 sq ft event room filled with top grade collectibles from the legendary Joe Koch and Forbidden Planet NYC
- A new Independent Creators Alley (ICA) to give small and independent creators an opportunity to bring their work to a broad audience at Big Apple Comic Con
- Animation king Bill Plympton, fresh off his win at the LA Animation Festival
- The master of Spy vs Spy and cartoon genius Peter Kuper
- Eisner Award winner Alitha Martinez
- Innovative art sensation Nik Virella
- Ever sparkling super talented actor/podcaster all around mensch Ming Chen
- Effin’Birds creator Aaron Reynolds
- Michael Fife, creator/writer / artist of the action series COPRA.Panorama (Dark Horse), Bloodstrike: Brutalists (Image Comics), and Zegas (Fantagraphics)
- Chuck Forsman, creator of Revenger, Celebrated Summer, Slasher, and Automa. His comics I am Not Okay With This and The End of the Fucking World, have been adapted into Netflix Original Series
Since 2018 Big Apple Comic Con’s home has been the classic Art Deco Wyndham New Yorker Hotel at 401 8th Avenue. Event organizers describe the convention as the premier boutique comic and popular culture show in the City, featuring celebrities, exhibitors, collectors and cosplayers.
Through the central theme of comic books, the convention features a large range of pop culture elements including original artwork, science fiction & fantasy, film & television, cosplay, animation, anime, manga, toys, horror, collectible card games, video games and fantasy novels.
